Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum age for canyoning in Pucón?

Twelve, on Río Correntoso, our route for first timers. Salto El Claro (an 80 metre rappel) and Saltos de Pocolpén (four waterfalls in the water) are for ages 18 and up. If anyone in your group is between 12 and 17, Río Correntoso is the route you can all do together.

Do I need canyoning experience?

No. Every trip starts with a technical briefing before the first descent. A guide always goes down first and waits at the bottom, and you descend on two ropes: one you control and a safety line run by a guide from above. If it's your first time, Río Correntoso has the shortest drops, 10 to 12 metres.

Do I need to know how to swim?

Only for Saltos de Pocolpén. It's a fully aquatic route with pools and jumps, and the last waterfall ends in a free fall into the water. On Salto El Claro and Río Correntoso the descents are on rope and you don't need to swim. You'll still get soaked, which is why a neoprene suit is included on every route.

What should I bring?

Swimwear to wear under the neoprene, a towel and a change of dry clothes for the ride back. We provide all the technical gear: harness, helmet, neoprene suit and booties. Transport from Lincoyán 361, accident insurance, a seasonal snack and the photos from your trip are included too.

What happens if it rains?

Trips run as long as the weather and the river allow it safely; you get wet canyoning anyway, and the neoprene suit keeps you warm. If weather or water levels make it unsafe, we call the trip off before it starts and you choose between a new date and a full refund.

When is canyoning season in Pucón?

We run year round, depending on each river's flow: if there's too much water, a route can be suspended for safety. Dates with open spots are published under Upcoming dates, with live availability for each route. If the date you want isn't listed, message us on WhatsApp and we'll tell you what's possible.

Which route is the most extreme?

It depends on what scares you more. Saltos de Pocolpén is the only one rated hard: fully aquatic, four waterfalls up to 18 metres, a free fall jump to finish and swimming required. Salto El Claro has the tallest descent: a single 80 metre rappel beside the waterfall, with no swimming or jumping.

Where do we meet?

At our agency, Lincoyán 361, in downtown Pucón, in Chile's Araucanía Region. Every trip starts and ends there, with round trip transport included: about 20 minutes to Salto El Claro, 25 to Río Correntoso and 45 to Saltos de Pocolpén, in Curarrehue.

Can I pay by card?

Yes. You pay online by credit or debit card through Mercado Pago, on TuReserva, the booking system we use. There you choose the route, date, time and group size, and your receipt is issued. If you have questions before paying, message us on WhatsApp at +56 9 3388 5320.

How do I cancel a booking?

Cancel up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Within 24 hours, or if you don't show up, there's no refund, except for the right of withdrawal under Chilean consumer law 19.496. If we cancel because of weather, the river or not reaching the three person minimum, you choose a new date or a full refund.
